Kendrick Lamar Fires Shots at Drake and J. Cole on Future and Metro Boomin’s Latest Track ‘Like That’

In a surprise move, Kendrick Lamar made an uncredited appearance on Future and Metro Boomin’s newest album, “We Don’t Trust You,” and didn’t hold back in his lyrical assault aimed at Drake and J. Cole.

Kendrick Lamar fiery verse on the track “Like That” steals the spotlight as he directly addresses a few lines from Drake and J. Cole’s “First Person Shooter,” which appeared on Drake’s “For All the Dogs” album last year. J. Cole’s mention of the “big three,” including Lamar, Drake, and himself, prompted Drake’s retort, seemingly sidelining Lamar from the trio.

On “Like That,” Lamar doesn’t mince words, calling out the rappers’ earlier bars and taking aim at them head-on. He dismisses any notion of a “big three” with a resolute declaration: “Motherfuck the big three, n—a, it’s just big me.”

Further into the verse, Lamar critiques the quality of their music and asserts his own legacy, likening himself to Prince and suggesting his endurance will surpass theirs. He spits, “Your best work is a light pack / N—a, Prince outlived Mike Jack / N—a, bum, ‘fore all your dogs get buried / That’s a K with all these nines, he gon’ see Pet Sematary.”

This isn’t unfamiliar territory for Kendrick Lamar , who has previously courted controversy by directly referencing his peers. His verse on Big Sean’s “Control” back in 2013 stirred the pot, where he declared his intentions to outshine his fellow rappers.
